How fires start and spread, prevention, alarms and extinguishers, and what to do when the alarm sounds.
Every member of staff, in any workplace, as part of their induction and yearly refresher.
How fires start and spread
Every fire needs the same three things. Remove any one of them and the fire goes out.
Fire prevention and the law
Most fires can be prevented. The law puts the main duty on the employer, but every member of staff has a part to play.
Fire safety equipment
Detectors, alarms, signs, emergency lighting and extinguishers all play a part.
What to do if there is a fire
In a fire, every second counts. Knowing the plan before it happens is what keeps people alive.
Course content based on the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the matching fire safety law in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
