Fire classes, extinguisher types and colours, when to tackle a fire, the PASS method and fire blankets.
Staff who may need to use an extinguisher or fire blanket, before their hands-on practice at work.
Fire classes and extinguisher types
Using the wrong extinguisher can make a fire worse or put you in danger.
When and how to use an extinguisher
Most people should raise the alarm and leave. An extinguisher is only for small fires, used by trained people, when it is safe.
Checks, maintenance and practical training
Extinguishers must be in the right place, in working order and ready to use.
Course content based on the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the matching fire safety law in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Ready as soon as you pass. It shows your name, the course and your country's version, your score, the topics covered, the completion date, a recommended refresher date (1 year) and a QR code that anyone, such as an employer, can scan to check it online.
